Leadership shouldn’t take this much out of you. For highly capable women who already know how to lead.

  • ABOUT

  • I build things.

For most of my career, those things have been healthcare companies, teams, programs and systems that didn’t exist before.

I’m a physician by training, a former Fortune 5 executive, and today I’m Chief Clinical Officer of a healthcare startup, building a new model for value-based cardiology.

    I love building.

And over the years, I’ve become just as interested in the person doing the building.

Because some of the hardest moments in leadership aren't hard because we don't know what to do.

    We know.

We know we need to have the conversation. We know what we want to say. We know the decision we want to make.

And yet we can still overthink it, rehearse it, hold back, or carry it around far longer than we want to.

That became a question I couldn't stop exploring:

Why can we know exactly what to do and still find it so hard to do it?

That question sits at the heart of my writing and my work with women leaders.

Not because I want leadership to become effortless.

I just don't think it has to take so much out of us.
